Our Organization
The Big Fat Love Organization is seeking Non-Profit status and is in the start up phase. We plan to use the proceeds from both donations and products to increase awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in our communities and help existing families dealing with the challenges of ALS. We plan on working together with various community organizations on Big Fat Love Moments (events) that reach out, raise awareness, enrich understanding, relieve stress, strengthen families and fill people's hearts with Big Fat Love.
We plan to fulfill these lofty goals through the underlying Big Fat Love causes, which are 'Race to the Cure', 'Flame of Hope', 'Change the World with Big Fat Love' and 'Friends for Frank'.
Management
Founder, Frank Teixeira, originated the concept of Big Fat Love, from witnessing acts of kindness through his personal life experiences. He suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease and is known to his friends as the quintessential beach rat. Perhaps it is for his love for the outdoors and all things to do with the beach, from surfing to fishing and motorcycles. Always a kid at heart with his winning smile and his contagious laugh he would always seem to find the brighter part of life and keep everyone involved. Back in his hey day, before being diagnosed with ALS he was a crafty artist that built beautiful inspiring custom motorcycles and an avid sports junky that was good at everything he tried.
Behind the Scenes Guy, Michael, quietly and unnoticed he works unseen pulling together the odds and ends to help bring Big Fat Love about. A creative mind from a ripe young age, he grew fond of the beauties of nature early on, enjoying the tender moments toiling in the dirt, crawling through the dense bushes of the east and building elaborate, yet simple, forts to have his great adventures. Still young at heart he now dabbles in business with an entrepreneur's creativity and drive, finding his true passions lying in helping others succeed in life.
